Model Overview
The Lamborghini Huracan made its grand reveal during the Geneva Auto Show held in March 2014, and was released in the second quarter of 2014. The car that was to replace Lamorghini's sales leading and most produced marque, the Gallardo proved to be an instant success when it was named "Supercar of The Year" 2014 by Top Gear magazine.
Using the same Audi AG V10 engine. Coupled with direct fuel injection from the Gallardo the Huracan used a multi-point fuel injection system, improving efficiency even further along with more power. The electrohydraulic gearbox that could be optioned with the Gallardo was ditched for a quicker dual-clutch transmission, the first fitted to a Lamborghini, helping the LP-610-4 achieve a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds. Like many Lamborghini models before it the name Huracan was inspired by a famous Spanish fighting bull, it also literally means ‘hurricane’ in Spanish.
Initially the Huracan was born with 610hp and an electronically controlled 4-wheel drive system, with the Huracan Spyder being released 2 years later.
